I found out that old freelance thing I did one year ago I think . Brought back some sad memories, but a really good lesson I thought I could share with you people of the earth.
This producer from IDW publication contacted me, one day, to see if I could make a cover for the new Mr.Peabody& Sherman comic book series. It looked like a dope freelance contract to me so I said yes without hesitation. But the thing is, I had to do an unpaid drawing test before doing the actual cover. I did the test the day after, sent the drawings to the producer, receive an email from her telling me that everything’s great and never heard back from her again…
THE LESSON HERE KIDS IS NEVER DRAW A SINGLE LINE ON ANYTHING FOR FREE!!
I was so pissed off when this happened!! But at least I learned something really really important from this shitty experience. I hope I’ll have a REAL opportunity to do some cover art one day.
The movie is crazy awesome though!
Handsome gentlemens doodles. Just playing and experimenting a little with some old designs I did two years ago for an aborted project.
What’s up guys!
Last May, while doing my student short EL TERROR, I had the great opportunity to design a puppet with Furry Puppet Studio for a music video. Sadly, the music video will not be release publicly…But the creative director told me I could show you some of my work on it. So here it is! I don’t have a pictures of the whole body but I’m sure there is one of it on their facebook page.
It’s really weird and funny to see one of my scrappy digital doodle to turn into an actual real three dimensional thing!! Seriously the picture with the expressions totally freaks me out! He really looks like he’s alive for real! Like he has a job, a family and other stuff that real people have (toothbrush). I don’t know…
Anyway, I hope I’ll have the chance to design other puppets with Furry Puppet Studio because it’s just super awesome.
Hope you enjoy all of this!
Emilythebravee posted the most awesome thing I’ve seen on tumblr and I couldn’t ignore it!!She cosplayed as my hipster sorceress!! I tweaked your fabulous curtain rod for fun but yeah you seriously killed it!
Seeing a cosplay of my hipster warrior would just be to awesome!
I ‘m super proud to announce that my short student film “EL TERROR” will be screened at the Fantasia international film festival! If you’re near Montreal and you want to assist to the world premiere of this little short, you can get all the information on their website starting July 10th!
To celebrate here are two new scenes from my film describing (perfectly) my reaction when the news came to me!
